Description

Being successful at designing for clients' needs in websites and products requires a lot of things. One of the biggest is the ability to communicate your ideas well. Just because a concept is awesome doesn’t mean it automatically gets approved.

Pitching that idea is a time when your project is at its most vulnerable.
It's easy to make a wrong turn that significantly REDUCES your odds of winning clients over.

So, how do you get everyone on the same page, build trust, and empower a client to approve the best possible work? Winning with design concepts you believe in not only requires educating the client, but also meeting them in the middle, speaking on their terms, and helping them to see what you see.

No surprise, this part of the process can get messy.

That's why we're excited to have Blair Culbreth and Angela Nguyen from Viget to share how they make sure clients understand their thinking and increase their odds THROUGH PROTOTYPING.

  • Viget is a team of engineers and designers with global and local clients (like Puma, ESPN, Boulder Labs) that prides itself on "providing the kind of technical creativity founders are looking for when it comes to custom software and elegant design."

  • Prototyping (especially low fidelity prototyping) plays a large role in Viget's creative work. From Sketches, storyboards, and rough clickable prototypes, to animated gifs - prototyping not only shows an idea clearly, it illustrates where we are in the process. Things can be changed, nothing’s set in stone, and we are listening.

  • Added bonus: Using these techniques involves more people in the creative process - all while saving time, effort, and your sanity.

Come ready to hear:
Lessons learned, tools they use + when to use them, and examples of lo-fi prototyping in real work.
