Social media executives have had a long, hard look in the mirror over the course of the last two years, to say nothing of the long, hard looks they've had to take at the folks on Senate judiciary panels. As a result, changes have been more frequent and more rapid to all platforms than in the past...and we're pretty used to lots of change, but the pace has picked up dramatically.

So what's next? Will Facebook succeed in quality time over quantity of minutes spent on the platform? Will Twitter pivot to becoming the data company we've always known they could be? What happens with Snapchat and WhatsApp and Messenger and the new capabilities being introduced to these platforms? And what becomes of the Instagram vs YouTube race to the top of the video heap?
