Overview:
The Sr. Software Engineer, Reporting Team will join a group of highly passionate software developers responsible for the next generation reporting platform of our desktop and cloud products. The Alteryx Reporting platform allows users to design, generate and export reports and data visualizations to a variety of formats.
 
Position Details:

• Participate in the architecture and design of features for our next generation reporting platform.
• Develop new product functionality utilizing HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
• Research, propose and evaluate new technologies to advance the reporting platform.
• Work with product management, UX, quality assurance, development team members and other engineering development teams to coordinate product development activities.
• Pitch in where needed as a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.

 
Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience developing software using JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• 5+ years of relevant UI/UX application architecture design and development experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with basic data structures, algorithms and functional programming principles.
• Demonstrated professional expertise in understanding and implementing OO design patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Team centric attitude, with a willingness to learn new technologies and work outside of your comfort zone.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.

Valued Skills:

• Experience with React.js, MobX, Node.
• Automated testing experiencing using Karma, Jest, QUnit, NUnit, MSTest, or other testing frameworks.
• Working knowledge of C++ and/or C#.
• Experience with d3, three.js, Highcharts, Plotly or equivalent charting libraries.
• Experience in the latest web development technologies such as ES6, web components, and emerging JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Experience using SVN, Perforce or equivalent SCM.
