The Emerging Capabilities team is a fast-paced, forward-looking development team focused on extending and scaling core Alteryx technology onto distributed frameworks such as Apache Spark. The Emerging Capabilities team is a fast-paced, forward-looking development team focused on extending and scaling core Alteryx technology onto distributed frameworks such as Apache Spark. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated and proactive with a fearless predisposition for learning new skills, languages, and platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver enterprise-grade, commercial software at a predictable cadence
- Participate in the architecture and design of distributed, big data analytic functionality
- Work in a pragmatic, collaborative, and agile environment with other like-minded developers
- Work across multiple cross-platform technology stacks in C++, Scala, Python, R, etc.
- Research, evaluate, and commercialize new technologies
- Engage and support both internal and external customers
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 3-4 years of programming experience with C/C++ (preferably including templates, STL, Boost, and C++11/14)
- A hands-on programmer – strong in data structures, design patterns and performance analysis
- Self-directed – the Emerging Capabilities team works on cutting edge components and candidates will be expected to research and develop new features with minimal supervision
- A willingness to work in an agile environment with a collaborative team
Relevant Skills:
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Hive and related data analytics platforms
- Experience with C# and the .NET Framework
- Experience with Python, Scala or R for data analysis
- Chromium Embedded Framework, JavaScript, HTML and other web development technologies
- Automated testing experience using GTest, NUnit, or other testing frameworks
