About Urban Sky:

Urban Sky is a venture-backed aerospace startup redefining the way we analyze Earth from the stratosphere. We design, build, operate, and sell stratospheric balloon systems. The data we collect supports a range of applications, from real-time wildfire monitoring to urban mapping.

We are writing the next chapter of stratospheric history in Denver and are seeking self-starting, open-minded, and hard-working team members.

Role Description:

Our hardware team is growing rapidly as our operation grows across the US. We're seeking a self-driven multi-disciplinary electrical engineer to support payload systems development.

This position is onsite at our Denver, CO HQ.

Key Functions:

• Own electrical engineering of all payload systems. You'll be expected to work through problems across a system's entire lifecycle, from requirements, to prototype and mass manufacture.
• Reverse engineer and modify COTS parts for use in flight systems.
• Collaborate within hardware team to architect key elements of our platform.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of industry experience. We are open to a range of experiences and levels.
• High level of proficiency with circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, integration, sourcing and transitioning a prototype to production.
• Past success developing electronics for critical systems in fields such as aerospace, transportation, or medical devices.
• Must be eligible to work in the US.
• Must be able to work at Urban Sky's Denver, CO office.

Benefits:

• Salary $100,000- $150,000 per year
