Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a member of the DISH Wireless Roaming Team, you'll be part of a dynamic group of engineers dedicated to deploying and refining DISH's standalone 5G network. We're focused on deploying Roaming Services in collaboration with Nokia, BICS, and our roaming partners. Operating in a live production environment, we leverage CI/CD operations to ensure smooth testing, debugging, and deployment of solutions. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a thriving start-up with strong financial backing.
In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with the Technology Development team and vendors to design cloud-native solutions for roaming services' network functions.
• Deploy and maintain core network functions on an advanced cloud-native standalone 5G network.
• Work closely with vendors like Nokia, BICS, and roaming partners to establish and upgrade roaming services and features.
• Contribute to exploring innovative 5G technologies to enhance network virtualization infrastructure.
• Demonstrate extensive hands-on experience with 5G Core nodes and roaming call flows, including S8HR, N9HR, N26, and N14.
• Ensure compliance with defined standards and best practices, and contribute to their development.
• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers, sharing expertise across various functional areas.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling pressure and meeting strict deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
• Engage in knowledge transfer, documentation, and continuous learning to stay updated on new technologies and technical developments.

Skills, Experience and Requirements
As a successful Senior Roaming Services Engineer, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in the Wireless industry, either with carriers or vendors
• Extensive experience in implementing, integrating, and deploying roaming service solutions (S6a, S8c, S8u)
• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing 5G core networks, understanding key differences from previous generations
• Proficiency in SS7, Sigtran, and 5G protocols, including troubleshooting IP and SS7 traffic
• Familiarity with Cloud Native environments, including AWS/GCP/Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, OpenStack, VMWare, KVM, or EKS
• Proven experience in 5G/IMS/LTE technologies, with knowledge of TCP/IP networking and scripting languages like Python or Bash

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $87,500.00/Year - $125,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
