Checkr is looking for a Staff Product Manager to lead and own one of the most strategic and  mission critical components of Checkr’s core product - background check platform. In this role, you will sit at the center of everything Checkr does, and directly shape the evolution of Checkr’s core product for years to come. You will work closely with a stellar group of product managers, engineers, and designers to advance Checkr’s vision of creating the infrastructure for the future of work, and further our mission of building a fairer future.

Our ideal candidate has a successful track record of building for scale and robustness, is experienced in solving for system complexities, can navigate with ease between visionary thinking and ground-level intricacies, and is seasoned in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities :

  • Build deep domain knowledge of Checkr’s background check product, as well as empathy for both internal and external users.
  • Taking the long view, evaluate Checkr’s existing background check platform and various screenings to identify big-picture challenges and opportunities.
  • Work with various product teams to develop a cohesive vision and strategy for orchestration across screenings.
  • Partner with engineering teams to modernize architecture and build for long-term extensibility.
  • Collaborate with legal, revenue, operations, customers, and technology partners to deeply understand, document, analyze, and synthesize market opportunities/customer needs into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed specifications.
  • Drive long-term change, build scalability and efficiency, and continuously create value and differentiation in Checkr’s core screenings product portfolio.

What you bring:

  • 10+ years experience as a product manager, preferably in SaaS or B2B software; experiences working with Restful APIs and/or building products in highly regulated spaces a strong plus. 
  • Passion for problem solving, especially in problem spaces with high degrees of system complexity. 
  • Bias towards scale, consistency, and robustness. 
  • Ruthless prioritization and disciplined execution.
  • Experience working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; proven ability to drive stakeholder alignment.
  • History of leading and executing in fast-paced, high-growth, ever-evolving environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, and a highly analytical mind.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • An owner’s mindset and ability to drive action.
