About Role

As the Product Owner for the Test Automation Service team, you will work as part of a truly innovative and fun team responsible for delivering services in the test execution layer of the automated testing stack inline with and to enable a DevOps culture across our HCI/SF Product Development organization.   You will be interacting with ARTs and their teams within a SAFe Organization.  You will serve as the main liaison between our internal customers and the dev teams where content is concerned.  You will own the teams backlogs.

What You Will Do:

  • Participate in team demo and retrospective – you may review and accept stories as the team completes them and participate in the team demo and Iteration Retrospective.  
  • Program Execution – you will coordinate dependencies with other POs at Program Level.  
  • Inspect and Adapt – as a participant you will help define improvement stories from the workshop that will improve the quality of the program. You will also lead the PI system demo and represent your team.  
  • Prepare and Participate in PI Planning – you will be heavily involved in program backlog refinement and updating the team backlog accordingly. You will define stories and provide the clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story estimates.  
  • Iteration Execution – you will maintain the team backlog (stories, defects, enablers) on an ongoing basis with input from Architects, Agile Teams, and other stakeholders. You will also do the prep work required for Iteration Planning. You will participate in the development of story acceptance criteria, draft them when feasible, and provide examples so that you can use those to accept stories.  
  • Understand enabler work – you will need to understand the scope of the upcoming enabler work and collaborate with Architects on decision-making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructures which will enable new business functionality.  
  • Architecture & Services Roadmap – you will need to uphold, support and help ensure the integrity of the current architecture and roadmap. Help define High Availability services that allow for no-downtime deployments while under load
  • Work with our internal customers to define user stories and requirements
  • Join forces with the Engineering Manager and Scrum Master of the team to help develop a high performing scrum team.

About You

You have: 

  • Experience with DevOps practices such as Configuration Management and CI/CD, and the tools/applications involved 
  • Test automation frameworks, tools, work flows and services
  • Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of people  
  • 3-5 years of experience as a software developer, systems administrator, build/release engineer, or similar 
  • A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field 

You might also have: 

  • Experience with Jenkins, Git, and Artifactory, or other similar tools in enterprise build/test environment 
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Mesophere, or Docker swarm running production workloads 
  • Experience with Agile frameworks like SAFe 
  • Python programing and best practices is also a plus
  • Experience with Jira and creating queries would be a plus
  • Product Owner certification is a plus
