In the last decade, radical transformations have occurred in the world of IT applications and services, driven by the cloud. Servers are no longer setup on-premise or in co-located facilities - they are spun up in seconds in AWS. Applications are not acquired and implemented over weeks or months on-premise - they are subscribed to as advanced SaaS services. Those are just two examples of thousands. There is no turning back. The cloud has changed everything.

Many young companies have the luxury of starting their IT infrastructure in a truly ‘cloud-forward’ way, building their IT stack from day one on cloud solutions. Nothing installed on-premise, most everything accessed as-a-service. More mature companies want to get to an ‘all-cloud’ model, and are strategizing how to be nimble like their younger counterparts. But they both have a major problem: employee resource access. It’s not just cloud apps. SSO tools have done that for years. It’s got to be about ‘everything’ an employee needs to touch: access to their laptops, their network access, legacy applications, SaaS apps, and file access as well. A directory, of course, is what IT needs, but, that’s not a cloud-based possibility.

This whole concept of a directory has been dominated by one company: Microsoft. Active Directory has been one the most critical resources that has controlled employee’s access for nearly 20 years. What happens when you are an IT team who simply don’t care for Microsoft technologies, or are looking to commingle Microsoft resources alongside others….like Mac or Linux? How can you build a solid and secure network with Active Directory...or without it?

This is what JumpCloud has solved.

JumpCloud’s Directory-as-a Service (www.jumpcloud.com) has disrupted this mainstream way of thinking and has gone global helping companies large and small achieve this reality, providing an independent, cloud-based directory. We have made it possible for IT organizations to finally separate from the one element that has helped them stay grounded from the cloud: Active Directory. We have become the world’s alternative for this critical piece.

This is where you come in, Product Manager.

If you are a conventional ‘product person’ who enjoys working in long release cycles, need guardrails, scared to rock the boat, or challenge and push the limits of possibilities, this is probably not the place for you. We are seeking thinkers, disrupters, dreamers, evangelists, leaders and doers as our product managers. In return you have freedom to explore, to invent, and, most importantly, to move fast. You’ll work with an absolutely exceptional engineering team who are as customer-focused as you are. You’ll also be working to enhance a truly progressive platform, from the core stack we’ve chosen to build upon, to the scale it has grown to. Your ownership of deep problem spaces means you will be in command of your features’ execution, from inception to delivery working alongside a close team of product management, marketing and go-to-market professionals. Your work will be seen and used by thousands of IT professionals every hour of every day, keeping their environments secure, and the employee’s connected to their resources.

Sound fun? If so, read on.

As a Product Manager, you will:

  • Own the ‘what’ and the ‘why’ of your ideas and inspire them to become new features of, or and ancillary products to, our Directory-as-a-Service
  • Own the core positioning of the features or products under your management, mentoring and advising sales, marketing and executive management on the value the provide the customer, and the investment we will receive upon delivering

  • Passion for our product, for our customers, for our market and the possibilities of shaping the future for our customer’s benefit.
  • The ability to generate ideas for how our products can make our customers more successful.

Location

Our HQ is located between Denver and Boulder. Since we're remote first with employees in most U.S. states and 14 countries, we use the office as a hub to bring people together for team events and meetings.

An Insider's view of JumpCloud

What’s the vibe like in the office?

A key trait for us is having an open, positive mind. We believe that taking the road less travelled - or at least exercising that path - will create new, different, and interesting ideas. We ask our teams to always consider the outside-of-the-box solution to a problem and encourage them to try those creative ideas.

Aaron

VP of People

What projects are you most excited about?

Growth! JumpCloud is actively growing in Denver/Boulder and across the U.S. Attracting and engaging a diverse group of talent as we continue to expand is my main focus. JumpCloud has a strong culture of learning, so we're always looking at what we're doing and adjusting to make it even better.

Katy

Manager, People Attraction

What makes someone successful on your team?

My team members feel empowered to create, design and execute with a lot of freedom at JumpCloud. This enables them to take an active role in their career development and the development of other team members at JumpCloud.

Courtney

Manager, Learning and Development

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

I'm available pretty much anytime via email, Slack, phone, in person. More than the communication vehicles and time, I really like to dig in on projects with our teams. By working on important issues together as just another voice or hand to help, I think that helps the team feel that I'm accessible to them and there to help.

Rajat

CEO

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

One of the core roles in our engineering group is called pathfinder. They are constantly looking at different areas of our product and future plans and coming up with innovative new ways to achieve these. These engineers lead sessions with cross-functional teams on how to leverage their innovations for competitive advantage in the marketplace.
