About the Role
NetApp | SolidFire is looking for an experienced Product Owner who is passionate about solving customer challenges, learning, and getting things done, you may be just the person we’re seeking! This is a high visibility role that will impact the fundamental performance of our new hybrid cloud infrastructure products.
As a Product Owner on our team you will work as part of a dynamic, fun and growing team responsible for participating in the development, testing and debugging of the software platform underpinning all of the SolidFire products. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, supportability, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market.
What you will do:
Represent Product Management and the customer in engineering team level discussions.
Prepare and Participate in PI Planning - you will be heavily involved in program backlog refinement and updating the team backlog accordingly. You will define stories and provide the clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story estimates.
Iteration Execution - you will maintain the team backlog (stories, defects, enablers) on an ongoing basis with input from System Architect, Product Managers, and other stakeholders. You will also do the prep work required for Iteration Planning. You will also participate in the development of story acceptance criteria, draft them when feasible, and provide examples so that you can use those to accept stories.
Understand enabler work – you will need to understand the scope of the upcoming enabler work and to collaborate with System and Solution Architect to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructures that will host the new business functionality.
Participate in team demo and retrospective – you will review and accept stories after team demo and participate in the Iteration Retrospective.
Program Execution - you will coordinate dependencies with other POs at Program Level.
- Inspect and Adapt - you will define and implement improvement stories that will increase the velocity and quality of the program. You will also lead the PI system demo and represent your team.
About You
You have:
Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of people
3-5 years of experience as a software developer, product manager, program manager, project manager, or similar
A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field
Experience building system level products in industries like storage, networking, virtualization, security, telecommunications or database systems
You might also have:
Experience with DevOps practices
Experience with Agile frameworks like SAFe
Successfully completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
Ability to participate in and drive technical discussions with your team and other cross-functional teams.
Participate in technical discussions with groups within and outside immediate Business Units to create business synergy within NetApp
Ability to come up with and execute on initiatives that will contribute towards NetApp’s business goals, as well as establish NetApp’s industrial leadership.
Mentor junior engineers within surrounding functional units.
