The Role
The Compliance and Regulatory Specialist will be responsible for ensuring PopSockets’ products meet all applicable domestic and international regulations regarding consumer safety. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance across a variety of product categories and markets. The Compliance and Regulatory Specialist will report to the Quality Manager working within the Operations Engineering department.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure PopSockets’ products meet global consumer safety regulations across a variety of product categories (cosmetics, medical devices, electronics, children’s products or toys)
- Manage 3rd party laboratory testing for restricted substances (REACH, RoHS, CA Prop 65, etc)
- Support new product launches by identifying compliance requirements during research and ideation phases
- Support sales team by responding to customer/retailer inquiries regarding product safety
- Work directly with PopSockets’ contract manufacturers to resolve non-compliance events in a timely manner
- Identify and manage 3rd party regulatory consultants as needed
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- BS in a related technical field (Chemistry, Material Science, Engineering, etc)
- 3 years’ experience working in consumer product compliance, preferably in at least some of the product categories mentioned above (cosmetics, medical devices, electronics, children’s products or toys)
- Familiarity with global restricted substances regulations (REACH, RoHS, CA Prop 65, etc)
- Strong organizational skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Self motivated. Must be willing and able to learn requirements for new markets or products in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills. Must be willing and able to work cross functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external
- Must be proficient in MS office
- Past experience with FDA regulated products is a plus
Salary 85k-110k depending on experience-- plus 15% bonus
