The Opportunity:

Marketo is seeking a unique, passionate, cutting edge marketing leader and strategic thinker with world-class experience in a fast-paced, B2B software environment to lead the next generation of Marketo's growth as the new Vice President of Product Marketing.

We're looking for that rare individual who lights up at the challenge of supercharging a nation of marketers through Marketo's unrivaled engagement platform by leading one of the most important disciplines across the marketing team. We're looking for the very best, ready for the most exciting jobs in marketing and B2B software, with responsibility for the technology platform and solutions portfolio at one the most beloved, respected and recognized brands in martech.

This person will report directly to Marketo's CMO and will build and lead a team of high-performing product marketers, pricing experts and cross-portfolio storytellers. And the ideal candidate will be someone who genuinely & fervently lives the Marketo values to be Customer-Obsessed, Radically Transparent and Boldly Accountable all day, every day.

Key responsibilities of this leader include:

  • Define the strategy and lead execution of go-to-market efforts for one of the most beloved, and well-known brands and platforms in B2B software, including pricing, packaging, positioning, new product launch planning, product communications, vertical marketing, analyst relations and sales enablement.
  • Build a world-class product marketing organization and provide strategic direction, guidance, and mentorship to senior leaders of the product marketing team.
  • Act as the voice of the customer in partnership with product management to inform our short and long-term portfolio and platform investments by deeply understanding our industry, market landscape, competitive positioning and all stakeholders, buyers and users of our products.
  • Act as the primary internal expert on Marketo's competitive landscape, core competencies and strategic adjacencies where we can invest to serve the marketer first and to meet our growth objectives.
  • Lead a team to own strategic pricing analysis and decisions, including execution of short & long-term strategy by assessing and predicting how external forces, customer needs and internal objectives all intersect to define our strategy.
  • Define and evangelize the next evolution of Marketo's innovation story as a technology thought-leader, amplifying the power of our technology investment and journey as a primary leader and catalyst of what's next in marketing technology
  • Work closely with all members of the executive staff in close partnership with corporate marketing to develop strategy for how we communicate that message both internally and externally.
  • Proactively collaborate across all marketing teams including demand generation, product marketing, creative services as well as the entire Marketo organization including sales, product, technology, HR, finance and beyond to achieve key strategic goals.

A little more about you:

  • 10+ years' experience in product marketing, including proven success at a fast-growing, high-profile B2B software company.
  • Inspirational leader – someone who has enough experience and the empathy to create a unique culture within the marketing organization, and has experience recruiting and building high-performing teams at all levels in product and portfolio marketing.
  • World-class verbal, written and visual communicator, with a unique understanding and experience delivering on what it takes to stand out in the global B2B software landscape.
  • Hands-on experience working as a partner with finance & effectively managing a large marketing budget; Demonstrated success either leading or significantly influencing Return on Marketing Investment in partnership with other marketing leaders in prior roles.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and org savvy, with demonstrated experience collaborating with and/or working within a product management organization;
  • Demonstrated work history in-market that showcases excellence at both high-level product marketing and GTM strategy & execution as well as influence of others to achieve a common goal.
  • MBA a plus, but not necessarily required.

Location

Our new office is in the Denver City Center near plenty of shops and restaurants. We also have amazing views of the Rocky Mountains from our windows.
