Inboxlab, a fast-growing digital publisher, is expanding!

Inboxlab builds brands that expand perspectives through the wonder of learning, by delivering educational and entertaining experiences directly to the inbox. Since beginning our story, we've had one goal in mind: to become an engine for optimism. We firmly believe that the more connected to and aware of the world around us we are, the better off humankind will be.

Two years in, we're profitable and VC-free, and we've amassed 19 million subscribers across brands in the travel and gamified education verticals — with a pipeline of new brands to be launched in the future.

Our team of 50+ is insatiably curious, infectiously optimistic, radically connected, and intentionally intrepid. We operate as a distributed workforce, working remotely from around the world. As a team we interact with our hubs in Denver, LA, New York and Buenos Aires. If that resonates with you, we should talk!

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to define and drive the social media accounts for our growing fleet of brands. In this enterprise position, you’ll craft our strategy, voice, and presence on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and other platforms — introducing our brands to a new audience, reactivating existing subscribers, and connecting them all to our vast library of educational content . You’re a social native who knows how to curate a holistic experience that’s interactive, fun, and illuminating, and translates to increased brand awareness, engagement, and community growth. This position reports to the Editorial Director, part of the Brands team. This position will operate remotely and interact with our hubs in Denver, LA, New York and Buenos Aires.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Help establish and hone brand voices and storytelling styles that are consistent, compelling, and distinctive
  • Build and program daily, weekly, monthly social posting schedule
  • Work in lockstep with staff editors, staff writers to shape social strategy and posting schedule
  • Collaborate with Senior Photo Editor, photo staff in selection and curation of images (plus video) for maximum social impact.
  • Recruit, hire and manage Assistant Social Media Managers
  • Develop and pitch content ideas to editorial focused on social engagement and audience growth
  • Regularly report and analyze audience growth, engagement, behavior to editorial, brand group and larger organization
  • Track larger developments in the social media universe — emerging platforms, changes in existing players — to keep our brands relevant, on track and at optimal performance
  • Merge editorial artistry and creativity with data science to author social experiences that engage our audience, improve key metrics, and drive revenue
  • Faithfully translate company mission, core values into everyday tasks and projects

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING

  • 7+ years as a social media manager for a successful consumer-facing brand
  • Fluent mastery of social media platforms, and instinct for what makes content viral
  • Exemplary written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Solid, obsessive grasp of data and metrics as they relate to social media, audience growth, revenue and brand penetration
  • Hunger and metabolism for (good!) work in a fast-paced editorial operation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in writing, communications, marketing, or other related fields
  • Equal parts strategic and creative energy; you’re a self-starter who loves to collaborate, learn, and innovate
  • Experience and interest in building and curating gamified educational experiences on social media
  • A passion for learning, knowledge-sharing, and the optimistic potential of the internet, including email and the inbox
  • Proficient knowledge of email marketing
  • Hunger and metabolism for (good!) work in a fast-paced editorial operation
  • Curiosity, expertise and/or ability to quickly soak up knowledge on a broad range of topics
  • Proven track record for smart, consistent idea generation
  • Ability to stay organized and tackle multiple tasks at a time
  • This position will operate remotely and interact with our hubs in Denver, LA, New York and Buenos Aires.
