Guild is hiring for an Internal Communications Manager to help drive and execute a strategy that aligns Guild’s rapidly growing workforce to the organization’s mission, vision and company objectives through multi-channeled campaigns, storytelling and key thematic messages spanning all efforts. Additionally this role will work collaboratively with leads across the business to build strong cross-functional communication between teams to equip our teams for success with accurate and succinct messaging. 

At it’s core, Guild’s internal communications team develops and executes the strategy for informing, exciting and uniting the growing Guild team, leveraging a range of channels including all-company meetings, newsletters, email, Slack, Confluence, employee-onboarding, and signage. You’ll sit at the center of our corporate communications team that has a front-row seat to the workings of each guild team and the challenges and problems we are solving as a company. Driving effective communications across our company serves a crucial part of our objectives to drive the scale of our education marketplace, and enable thousands of students to go to school affordably. We are looking for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves, provide functional expertise and counsel, and is interested in building a world class internal communications team.

As an Internal Communications Manager, you will:

  • Help drive and execute the strategy for Guild’s internal communication efforts both at the all-company level and in mid-levels or specific audiences.
  • Lead the execution of internal communications of changes, updates, and draft company perspectives on a variety of topics that are consistent with key messaging goals.
  • Work closely with leaders across the company to establish organizational messages and keep staff informed of developments.
  • Write content for diverse audiences through a variety of internal communications mediums, such as newsletters, emails, presentations 
  • Execute creative and brand-aligned content including decks, newsletter layouts, printed content, etc.
  • Manage programs associated with all-company communications including team-building, morale boosting and special rewards/incentive programs. 
  • Execute and promote methods for collecting employee voice with abilities to analyze, identify trends, and summarize. This will also include responding to feedback from staff and adjusting communications accordingly
  • Help define what success looks like for internal communication, establishing metrics and tracking to quarterly and annual goals. 


You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees and craft/mirror the Guld internal voice.
  • Strong speaking skills and ability to deliver effective presentations to staff against talking points and objectives. 
  • Big picture sensitivity to an organisation’s goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees through effective storytelling.
  • An analytic curiosity and experience leading successful internal communications campaigns with proven, measurable results. 
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work with a diverse range of employees, teams and departments. 
  • The presence and poise to hold audience with senior executives to deliver findings, trends, recommendations and communications techniques.
  • Experience with digital and video means of communication as well as a strong design aesthetic. 
  • Experience managing communications within a fast-growth company or startup.

  • The ability to manage competing and evolving priorities. There will always be more than you can do in a day, so you continually make sure you have the right priorities and focus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, business or other related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working in internal/employee communication.
