The Opportunity

DAT is looking for an Internal Communications Manager to join our spectacular Marketing Communications team in Denver, CO.

This is a tremendous opportunity for a communications professional to help create and execute innovative, impactful internal marketing plans in support of DAT’s company culture; driving employee engagement and aligning the company’s 500+ employees around the 44 year old’s organizational goals.

A good fit for this position is someone who has strong communications and organizational skills, is highly collaborative and eager to contribute new ideas, and is comfortable juggling multiple priorities.

You will ultimately play a central role in building the DAT brand by ensuring our people are aware, engaged, and empowered.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications. 

DAT offers employees a Hybrid work environment. Three days/week in the office is the schedule for this position.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5-6 years of communications experience.
  • Resilient, collaborative and a sense of humor!
  • Passionate about building community and an engaged and aligned workforce.
  • Do not require hand-holding - you seek out the answers you need.
  • Both leader and team player, with the ability to build external and internal relationships with people and teams at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment that is experiencing a period of accelerated growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Work in close partnership with HR, developing plans that work in direct support of employee engagement efforts.
  • Facilitate internal events and presentations, such as company All Hands meetings
  • Draft messages and scripts from the executive team to employees in written or spoken form.
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization.
  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages.
  • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly.
  • Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organizational perception and reputation.
  • Advise senior executives of developments throughout the organization, either face to face or through regular written communication.

The Skills and Experience You’ll Bring

  • Experience in a communications team for a medium to large organization (500+ employees).
  • Experience and proven success developing and executing complex internal communications strategies and plans. 
  • Extensive experience in executive communications.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, as well as the ability to source stories from employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Outstanding time management, organizational and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong speaking skills and confident presenting to staff. 
  • Inherent understanding of the sensitivities surrounding an organization’s goals and values, and the ability to relay them to employees in the right way.
  • Confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques to them.
  • Understanding of digital and video means of communication is essential. 
  • Adept at creating high quality slides.
  • Bachelor's degree - ideally in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field.

(Colorado only) In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $96,000, plus benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience
