We're looking for a leader for our SEO team that has an entrepreneurial spirit, communication prowess, technical knowledge, a strategy and ownership mindset.

While both user focused and metrics driven, the SEO Director will identify opportunities to acquire new users and increase engagement through innovation, experimentation, and testing. You will manage SEO initiatives including website optimization, defining content needs, conducting in-depth analysis, link building, with the goal of driving organic traffic growth and conversions.  

You will work closely with relevant teams including Marketing, Design, Product, Innovation and Community to serve as an advocate for SEO and to ensure alignment of goals across all channels.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop SEO strategies; identifying short-term and long term objectives including site architecture optimizations, content creation and optimization, link acquisition, and other strategies that maximize indexing, average rank, CTR, on-site conversion, and growth of organic search traffic.
  • Study search demand and intent to identify growth opportunities for our websites
  • Oversee and coordinate prioritization of initiatives with product, marketing, and engineering teams.
  • Work with the team to develop the reporting suite (metrics, tools, and resulting dashboards) that will allow you to keep on top of trends and aid in projections.
  • Work with the team to develop regular reports on the competition and how that affects our overall SEO strategy.
  • Develop initiatives to drive growth and leverage our A/B testing program to enhance our sites and optimize conversion.
  • Keep up with industry trends and algorithm updates.
  • Effectively communicate team objectives and risks to key stakeholders across the organization, Serve as cross-departmental liaison on behalf of SEO team to build and maintain SEO roadmap.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7-10+ years experience in Search Engine Optimization
  • Expert knowledge of SEO principles, methodology and tools
  • Must be strong technically, analytically and creatively.
  • Detail oriented, excellent communications skills, conceptual, can work under pressure of deadlines and multi-task.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment; positive attitude and enthusiasm for getting results.
  • Experience working across multiple teams to get the tasks done that show impact on the larger company.
  • Experience growing a team, building their skills, coordinating the work, and taking ownership of the program. 
  • Experience working with CMS environments to support the team.
  • Experience teaching and training individuals and teams of all levels and experience in SEO.
  • Experience with website analysis using a variety of analytics tools including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, and internal reporting tools, as well as familiarity with third-party SEO analytics tools such as Moz, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, etc.
  • Desire and ability to keep pace with SEO, search engine, social media and internet marketing industry trends and development

Compensation: minimum $130k salary; Annual Bonus Potential + Equity

Location

We are actively hiring in San Diego, CA and Denver, CO. Majority of our employees work remotely but we have an office in the RINO district if employees choose to come in.
