Job Duties and Responsibilities
DISH is recruiting a transactional attorney to join a 10-lawyer team that supports DISH's and Sling TV's programming business. The primary responsibility is to draft (and help negotiate) license agreements for the video content that DISH and Sling TV make available to customers. This is a writing-intensive position and the subject matter can be very complex. Past candidates who were adept at drafting SEC disclosure statements or M&A agreements have done well in this role. Deal volume is high and long hours (including over weekends) will be required from time-to-time. A strong interest in learning about the US media industry is a prerequisite.
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
- Drafting and negotiating a wide variety of complex commercial contracts
- Managing the life cycle of the transactions you are assigned to
- Working closely with our business teams to learn the DISH programming business
Skills, Experience and Requirements
A successful Corporate Counsel will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Licensed attorney with a J.D. from an accredited law school
- Law school class rank in the top 33%
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Excellent communication, organization and multi-tasking skills
- An ability to document complex technological and financial arrangements
Salary Range
Compensation: $100,100.00/Year - $143,000.00/Year
