Role Overview: 

Boom is seeking a (junior or mid-level) contracts specialist to handle contracts administration across a wide variety of corporate matters, with a focus on supply chain contracts.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with establishing and administering company contracts management system
  • Administer non-disclosure agreements for a wide range of internal stakeholders
  • Initial reviewer on most company agreements, including Supplier contracts, MOAs, MOUs
  • Assist in conducting due diligence screening on third parties and advise on risks
  • Assist in developing, administering and providing guidance to internal teams related to Boom’s approval and signature authority processes and procedures
  • Summarize complex contractual issues and contract terms, assists in developing negotiation strategies, identifies areas of risk and proposes mitigation plans
  • Assist with the preparation, review, editing and negotiation of a broad range of legal documents
  • Represent Boom in external negotiations to a diverse set of strategic business partners
  • Coordinate and partners with other internal functional disciplines
  • Track and manage supplier performance to ensure quality and on-time delivery
  • Reports to other organizations and leaders on supplier contract status, performance and deliveries when needed
  • Participate on supply chain process improvement teams and identify improvement opportunities for potential integration into supplier contact strategies
  • Assist in developing Boom’s standard forms
  • Assist in creating a records retention policy and procedure

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of two years of legal experience, or in the alternative, a minimum of six years of contracts administration experience
  • Strong contracts drafting experience and training 
  • Strong technology skills, ideally with Google Suite Office, and Microsoft
  • Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities
  • Able to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritize appropriately and delegate to resources available
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Must be able to anticipate problems and issues and exercise independent judgment to make sound, justifiable decisions and take action in solving problems while knowing when and to whom to escalate issues
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to direct work independently while also thriving in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Exhibits grace under pressure and has a good sense of humor and thrives in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Expertise in managing complex supplier relationships, including lifecycle contract management from RFI to award, strategic partnerships and supplier performance
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector
  • Experience with an aerospace industry OEM
  • Government contracts experience and baseline knowledge of FAR and DFARS
  • Knowledge of the terms and conditions appropriate for different contract types (FFP, T&M, etc.) and their proper use
  • J.D. or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field
  • Experience creating process improvements and standardization

Compensation:

  • Salary Range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 range and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position
  • Robust equity program with significant upside potential
  • Open PTO
