The role
You will work alongside other mechanical engineers supporting the construction of autonomous vehicles and robotic systems. This role will be heavily involved in CAD work from part redesign, to complex assembly rework and documentation. You will have a direct role building and simplifying the bill of materials of future systems. You will be exposed to large SolidWorks assemblies and a cross functional procurement team.
Duties & responsibilities
- Refactor designs using SolidWorks toolbox and standardized hardware
- Use SolidWorks to create and update assemblies for packaging of electronic components on an electric vehicle
- Review Bill of Materials for correctness and export data for purchasing
- Document changes and present them to peers for feedback
Required qualifications
- Ability to start in March
- Experience with SolidWorks software
- Able to receive instructions and requirements from engineers and solve problems with that input
- Organize and track work, ideas, decisions, requirements, and solutions
Ideal qualifications
- Understanding of PDM and configuration management
- Familiarity with SolidWorks Toolbox
- Experience with large SolidWorks assemblies
- Strong attention to detail
- Willing to take on any assignment with optimism
- Take ownership of a project from beginning to end
- Experience with hand tools, 3D printers, and machine shops
