About the Team: 

VIZIO is looking for Data Engineering Intern to join our growing team of Analytics experts to help re-imagine how data can be used in the interactive television space. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data pipeline architecture and optimizing data flow and collection for cross-functional teams. This individual will support our software developers, data analysts, and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery.

About You: 

• You are excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company's data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives. 

• You have experience supporting and working in a team environment. 
• You have a successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets. 

Technology Stack knowledge: 

• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra. 
• Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Structured-Streaming, Kafka consumers, etc. 
• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, SQL, etc. 
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: AWS Data Pipeline, Apache Airflow, Argo, etc. 

What You Will Do: 

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, 

• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. 
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. 

• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.

• Proficient in Python
• Understand how to code in SQL
