Position Type: Temporary, Seasonal

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hourly salary range for this role is $17.00 to $25.00. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is not a remote position.

Additional Compensation: There is no additional compensation for this position.

Who we’re looking for to join our 2022 Summer Internship Cohort 

Bluestaq is searching for software development interns who are eager to join our talented team.

Bluestaq is an emerging software company located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our team specializes in cloud-based enterprises, data management, information security, modeling and simulation, and artificial intelligence.

Our unique software development internships offer exceptional opportunities for you to grow your technical and non-technical skills. From day one, you will work with experienced engineers and designers who love their job. Interns at Bluestaq are exposed to many technologies, not just fixed on one specific technology stack.  You'll have an opportunity to work with Java, Angular, Python, Groovy, REST Services, Elasticsearch, Jenkins, GIT, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Athena, NiFi, Quarkus, and Hadoop.

We are looking for self-starting, ambitious individuals who aren't afraid to challenge assumptions and learn new skills. You must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail is important as well.

Our internship cohort will begin on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, and will end no later than Wednesday, August 31, 2022.

Desired Qualifications of a Bluestaq Software Development Intern 

• Software Development experience 
• Experience with Java 
• Experience with scripting languages like JavaScript, Typescript, and Bash 
• A general understanding of both front-end and back-end technologies 
• An understanding of data storage solutions (RDS, Document stores, graph store, Hadoop) 
• Familiarity with cloud-based concepts 

Education: Ideal internship candidates should be actively working towards a degree in the following areas: Computer Science, Mathematics, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field/industry.
