Job Duties and Responsibilities
As an Indirect Tax Staff Accounta n t, you will be responsible for preparing t r ansac t i on tax returns. Returns are fil ed in state and local tax jurisdict i ons throug h out the United States for multiple companies .
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Prepare and file indirect tax returns including sales, use, gross receipts, and telecom
  • Prepare tax returns using Vertex Returns and other software
  • Analyze GL, reconciliations, and tax reports to ensure accurate reporting of tax
  • Reconcile data between systems to ensure integrity and accuracy
  • Monitor tax data to identify variances
  • Ensure timely and accurate filings to minimize assessments and penalties
  • Monitor applicable pre -payments and credits
  • Resolve notices and outstanding tax issues
  • Renew business licenses and respond to internal and external customer inquiries


Skills, Experience and Requirements
A successful Indirect Tax Staff Accountant will have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Experience using Vertex software is a plus
  • Critical thinking and a high degree of enthusiasm with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to details
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Must be a self-starter with an upbeat and positive attitude
  • Strive to achieve effective performance within the team, working for the overall success of the company


Salary Ranges
Compensation: $63,150.00/Year - $90,000.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
