Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Tax will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of about 35 tax professionals. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of building dynamic teams, is a creative-thinking, problem-solver, teacher, learner, and leader of people. This role is highly cross-functional and success is dependent on the ability to build successful relationships within Tax and the broader company and will require a deep understanding of our products, new offerings, business model, and financial results. Lastly, we require a candidate who is curious and adventurous. We have engaged in a number of M&As and are growing internally.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Serves as a key advisor to the CFO and leader of the Tax organization.
- Proactively leads and develops team members by creating a positive environment where they are challenged, motivated, and groomed for advancement.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with people across the Company to ensure the Tax Department is effectively serving our business partners.
- Responsible for all matters related to federal, state, local, and international income taxes, sales & use tax, and property tax (including, escheatment).
- Oversees financial reporting of the company's tax liabilities in accordance with ASC 740, including approval of quarterly and annual financial statements footnote disclosures.
- Produces quarterly updates to the audit committee on the company's tax situation including effective tax rate projections, cash tax projections, and legislative developments.
- Responsible for all tax planning related to taxable and tax-deferred mergers, acquisitions, and spin-offs.
- Manages outside tax service providers and counsel related to tax planning, compliance, and controversies projects.
- Oversight of income tax and indirect tax audits and support the development of our audit program.
- Responsible for all indirect tax compliance, including evaluating the financial, system, and operational considerations for new compliance obligations.
- Provide financial, risk, and operational advice to management on new and proposed tax legislation impacting the company and any new proposed business ventures.
- Responsible for all sales and property tax planning initiatives related to wireless capex spend.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Skill, Experience and Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in corporate tax
- CPA and Big 4 experience preferred
- Effective communications skills, including the ability to synthesize complex tax issues and to communicate them in a clear and succinct manner
- JD or Masters in Taxation a plus
- Wireless telecommunications, M&A, and international experience a plus
Salary Range
Compensation: $225,000.00/Year - $300,000.00/Year
