The Opportunity

Stream is hiring for a Staff Accountant to join the Finance team. This position is located in Boulder, CO, and reports to the Senior Accountant

What You Will Do

A typical day includes transactional accounting and ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of general ledger accounts. 

Some projects you will work on include assisting in drafting accounting department policies and creating desktop procedures for job responsibilities. 

Your success will be measured by high-quality work output and the ability to assist in meeting department goals and objectives. 

You will make an impact by being a team player and working with others in the department as well as working across the organization with other departments to advance Stream’s organizational objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day transactional accounting including processing AP, prepaid expenses, managing accounts receivable, and working on delinquent accounts. 
• Support the month-end close process including posting journal entries and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations. 
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package. 
• Work collaboratively with other department members on various projects as they are identified to advance department goals. 
• Working with expense reports on a monthly basis. Collecting invoices and reviewing transactions from Expensify for proper classification. 
• Identifying opportunities to streamline and improve processes. 
• Perform ad-hoc projects, reports, and analysis when necessary.
• Research and resolve accounting variances and irregularities.

Ideally, you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
• 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience. 
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Quickbooks. 
• Strong aptitude for learning new systems. 
• Accuracy and attention to detail including an inquisitive mind. 
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally with other departments. 
• A positive attitude with the potential to grow your career at a fast-paced start-up. 
• Ability to prioritize work and meet team deadlines including multi-tasking multiple projects concurrently.

Bonus Points:

• If you assisted in the implementation of recent accounting pronouncements (i.e. ASC 606 or ASC 842).
• Startup experience and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
