Downtown Denver-based luxury vacation company seeks an independent, proactive, service-oriented professional with a positive attitude and willingness to roll up their sleeves and dive into our fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate has comprehensive knowledge of financial and accounting systems, as well as project management, process engineering, advanced data analytics, and soft skills in business partnering and leadership.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Systems administration for budgeting software (Prophix) and ongoing, consultative support for other financial software (Microsoft Dynamics – Great Plains, Zuora, Wex, Coupa, Visual Lease)
  • Accounting system of record (Great Plains): Quality control, accuracy, efficiency, and testing of data integrations with Great Plains via new product configurations, revenue streams, and expenses. May include development and/or implementation of test plans and scripts; maintaining an effective framework in collaboration with product and technology teams
  • Finance Innovation Backlog:
    • Develop and maintain ‘Finance innovation backlog’ of identified needs and ideas, including a description of the problem, potential solution, and information regarding scalability, improvements, automation and other anticipated benefits
    • Partner with the Product Manager of Financial Systems for tech prioritization, feasibility, scoping, testing, and implementation of prioritized finance needs from the backlog
  • Partner with Senior Manager, Strategic Finance Innovation to evaluate existing internal processes to identify and execute systematic improvement opportunities that drive efficiencies by continuously improving, automating, and harmonizing end-to-end processes
  • Formalize and re-imagine the documentation of Accounting system requirements and business process SOPs, and develop training materials for new systems and processes
  • Provide analysis or decision support, as requested, using advanced analytical tools and techniques, and leveraging other teams (e.g. FP&A, Business Intelligence) and reporting functionality within available systems
  • Internal controls: perform internal audit testing (to verify controls are working as designed) and evaluate internal software controls to identify areas of improvement

 

Required Skills: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Software Expertise - Proven expertise with SQL, databases, and software applications for accounting and finance including Prophix, Zuora, Coupa, Microsoft Dynamics – Great Plains, Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skill set is required), and project management software (e.g. Visio, Monday.com, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project)
  • Process Improvement – Must be able to identify and solve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully and efficiently; manage change effectively; and work well in group problem-solving situations
  • Analytical skills: Excellent analytical skills (problem structuring and problem solving), able to handle complex analysis and data sources
  • Collaboration Skills - Strong leadership and collaboration skills (team player mentality). Must be able to communicate effectively and in a concise manner, cross-functionally and across all levels
  • Adaptability - Outstanding flexibility, adaptability and sense of accountability. Adapt to changes in the work environment; manage competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events, appreciate opportunities to adjust and adapt with a growing business. Ability to maintain attention to detail while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

 

Qualifications: Candidate should meet the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Systems Administration, or Computer science
  • 4-7 years of experience working successfully in a professional business environment
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in controlling, finance, or accounting
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in a multidisciplinary systems-related or data & analytics environment
  • 1+ years of relevant experience working with databases and SQL, incl. Analysis Services Cube Developer (OLAP), Report Developer (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Technical experience required: ETL and database architecture; SQL, Tableau, and Prophix; and working with financial applications such as Zuora, Wex, Coupa, Sage, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains), or Hyperion
  • 1+ years of experience in commercial or business consulting role (e.g. Sales, Marketing, or Strategy) is a plus
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) is a plus
  • Certification in Process Management (e.g. Six Sigma) is a plus
