Job Description

The Opportunity

Marketo is looking for a rock-star Sr. Director of Sales Operations: Analytics and Compensation to join our team. You are a critical member of the Marketo team with key responsibilities including the design, creation and maintenance of predictive analytics of the full cycle sales pipeline.  You are expected to drive strategy for compensation planning and compensation builds for the global sales teams and work with senior executive leadership in order to educate and enable the sales teams. You possess a record of success in Sales Operations, delivering measurable results and constructing and running multi-faceted teams enabling sales teams to understand their business at a deeper level than ever before. You thrive in a team environment and work enthusiastically with colleagues outside the immediate team to achieve company goals.
 
 Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop full cycle pipeline reporting and maintain central data sources for full cycle analytics
  • Lead a team of analysts to partner with sales and finance in order to build a complete view of the entire sales cycle from open to close and the impact on revenue.
  • Built metrics to predict the flow of sales and key junction points around risk in order to create action in the sales teams to drive success.
  • Create comprehensive compensation plans for the global sales teams in order to incent the right behavior and produce results
  • Analyze compensation plan drivers in year to proves successful incentives and adjust as needed.

 

Essential Skills, Experience & Education

  • 10+ years in strategic and analytical role in Sales Operations or Finance
  • Extensive experience in compensation planning for sales teams
  • Must be able to thrive in a highly dynamic, flexible work environment and switch rapidly from strategy to execution
  • Highly skilled at analytical decision-making; ability to evaluate business issues and resolve problems
  • Proficient at Business Intelligence tools (expert Excel, Tableau, Salesforce.com)
  • Ability to gather intelligence from data, present findings and decisions, influence stakeholders and execute on initiatives
  • Ability to work across organizational lines, command respect, and influence without authority
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

 

Nice to Have

  • MBA from a well-regarded institution, considered a plus
  • Experience with BI tools a plus
  • Experience with CRM a plus
  • Experience with CPQ tools a plus
