The Role: 

The Finance team at PopSockets is growing! If you’re a data-driven, analytically-minded finance professional looking for a new opportunity at a rapidly growing company, you’ve come to the right place. We’re looking for a detail-oriented self-starter who can help to expand the role Finance plays at PopSockets. To succeed on our lean but powerful team, you will need to be a team player, an expert in Excel, and an excellent communicator. We are looking for individuals who leverage technology to improve forecasting and modeling practices as we work to evolve our FP&A team from reporting to strategizing. Given the structure of our organization, there is a high opportunity to interact directly with senior leaders in developing innovative solutions focused on problem solving. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and financial packages to support the achievement of organizational objectives 
  • Prepare, provide, and review monthly financial results with operational divisions along with analysis and support 
  • Assist in the preparation of semi-annual and annual budgets 
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of the company’s budgeting and reporting systems 
  • Assist in the management and implementation of financial modeling tools 
  • Communicate financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with to budget 
  • Act as a financial data champion with the company, identifying and escalating any data discrepancies to the proper stakeholders  
  • Forecast models for revenue changes and expenditure increases / decreases 
  • Prepare and present complex product line budget to actuals analysis 
  • Perform quality checks to ensure the integrity of financial data 
  • Independently create, develop, maintain, and improve reports and models to support the business 
  • Work collaboratively with business managers across geographically distributed sites 
  • Liaise with department and project leaders to develop budgets, explain variances, and create reports to support achievement of organizational objectives 
  • Work cross-functionally to develop canned reports and models for various departments 
  • Develop strategies to enhance reporting and trend analysis 
  • Monitor, review, recommend, and revise departmental processes to ensure efficiency 
  • Identify areas for improvement and automation while maintaining documentation 
  • Prepare and analyze ad hoc requests and projects 
  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Requirements: 

  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field 
  • Highly proficient in Excel (Index / Match, VLookups, Pivot Tables, Slicers, etc.) 
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights (financial planning tool), Looker (BI tool), and Microsoft Dynamics NAV (ERP tool) preferred 
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial statements 
  • Comfort in working with large data sets 
  • Strong problem solving skills with ability to be creative 
  • Experience with financial forecasting and budgeting process 
  • Ability to perform highly detailed work with accuracy and precision 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, adapt quickly to change, and manage deadlines effectively 
  • Strong growth mindset with high level of energy and enthusiasm 
  • Self-starter who is ready to jump into a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment 
  • CPG and / or eCommerce experience is a plus 

 

Salary Range: 60-70k plus bonus
