BillGO is looking for a highly self-motivated Corporate Controller (who will report directly to the CFO), overseeing all aspects of accounting and closely monitoring the company’s financial health . This individual will be part of a team that creates and implements policies, procedures and controls to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, cost accounting and year-end audit preparation.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced, high transaction volume environment and have a high attention to detail and strong technical aptitude. Candidates must be adept, proficient and dependable. The Corporate Controller is responsible for direct supervision of all accounting operations and will have multiple direct reports
Responsibilities:
- Develop internal controls, audits, and best practices across all accounting functions
- Guide and direct internal tech resources to implement more efficient procedures, improvements and automations (and use of resources ), while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Manage and support ongoing SOX compliance
- Oversee internal and external consolidated financial reporting, including timely reporting of all monthly financial information
- Work closely with internal FP&A department to improve and streamline business processes related to budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Manage internal and external Audit processes including communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure a clean audit
- Support CFO with special projects
- Coordinate with internal tax personnel on the preparation of tax provisions and tax returns and ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns and reports to IRS and state tax authorities.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and regulations.
- Oversee the accounting department to include monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Account and Bank Reconciliation and Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis per GAAP
- Ensure all accounts are analyzed and reconciled on a routine basis
- Ensure completed filing of all state, and federal IRS filings and compliance reporting
- Assume responsibility for financial security, integrity of all systems, processes, and data
- Design and implement systems and databases that enable proactive, transparent tracking, and reporting
- Collaborate in the preparation and review of budgets in line with policy and guidelines
Requirements:
- 10+ years prior accounting experience, including at least 2 years as a controller
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations is required, including SOX compliance experience
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
- “Big Four” or national public accounting firm experience
- Experience in a high volume transactional environment preferred
- Experience establishing and/or reengineering operational practices and building accounting teams to meet changing organizational needs.
- Experience in payments industry a plus
- Experience scaling private companies and/or taking a company public
- Experience presenting to an audit committee or Board of Directors
- Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members
- Knowledge of MS Suite, various accounting systems, with knowledge of SQ
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
