We’re looking for a dynamic professional to join our Finance team and support our mission of amplifying our employee experience.

This position is responsible for the accounting and reporting functions of the company to ensure timely and reliable financial reporting and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Given the fast-paced culture and growth goals, this person needs to be hands-on, highly adaptable, and able to multi-task. They must have experience building and leading teams and also a track record of demonstrated process improvement. The ideal candidate must also have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a willingness to be hands on in the close process.

 

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Build, grow, and lead the financial reporting team
  • Ensure adherence to US GAAP
  • Support new business initiatives including the design of accounting policies and procedures
  • Improve core accounting processes to streamline and automate month end activities
  • Optimize monthly close process with a goal of 3 day close
  • Oversee monthly close process and prepare weekly and monthly financial statements and supporting management reports
  • Ensure integrity of financial data and accuracy of the financial statements, including oversight of Great Plains accounting systems
  • Provide necessary financial data in a timely manner when requested by the CFO including preparation of reporting for the company’s owners
  • Lead various projects as assigned and continuously find ways to refine processes by creating efficiencies, streamlining repetitive tasks and utilizing technology
  • Ensure timely and reliable sales and use tax reporting
  • Review balance sheet account reconciliations and roll forwards and explain all monthly transactional activity
  • Provide support as needed to team in preparing and approving journal entries, allocations, accruals, reconciliations and financial reports
  • Provide support as needed to complete all cash reconciliations and research and resolve any discrepancies
  • Oversee company’s annual financial audit/review and complete audited financial reporting
  • Own the treasury management function including account set up and maintenance, cash and debt operations
  • Manage franchise royalties and fees collection
  • Oversee cost accounting for small manufacturing/retail line of business. Includes inventory and BOM management, A/R and cash collections and financial reporting

You possess:

  • A positive, energetic, can-do attitude. 
  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance)
  • Leadership abilities and a desire to make things better every day – for your team, your coworkers and yourself.
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant Finance work experience, specifically in fast moving, high volume, multi-site organizations. Franchise experience preferred.  Retail, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • CPA License
  • 2+ years of FP&A experience preferred
  • Outstanding analytical, organization, project/process management skills
  • Prior success implementing accounting process improvements and upgrading systems (Great Plains experience helpful)
