Position Description:
The responsibility of the Collections Specialist will be focused on the company’s monthly collections, aged accounts collections, past due statements, calling past due clients and working with delivery and sales teams to address client issues. The Collections Specialist will support the Controller and Assistant Controller and work directly with the finance team, operations personnel, and sales personnel. The Collections Specialist will optimize KPA’s accounts receivable, manage past due accounts, work with sales and operations on collections issues and support the other objectives of the finance team.
What you will be doing:
- Optimize the collections process with periodic collections statements and meetings with finance team.
- Make collections calls, send collections, and invoice copies and email statements and invoices to past due clients while keeping and improving customer relations.
- Identify issues attributing to account delinquency.
- Support KPA and its cash flow with optimized collection and client support process.
- Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports.
- Investigate historical data for each debt or bill.

Qualifications:
- People Skills and Customer Service: must be comfortable working with challenging clients (infrequent) in a patient and professional manner.
- Willingness to Learn: must be adaptable and flexible as this role sits within a dynamic environment.
- Research: this role requires someone who can dig into a problem, work independently, and connect the dots to resolve client questions.
- Familiarity with how an Accounting Department is run and organized a plus.
- Previous experience in an administrative or accounting clerk role a plus
Preferred Background and Experience:
- Experience working with client collections, company operations.
- Experience in Accounts Receivable or equivalent.
- Expert level MS Excel experience with forecasting, reporting and analysis.
- Experience with NetSuite accounting system a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree and background in accounting a plus.
Compensation:
- Hourly rate between $18-22
- Annual bonus potential up to 7.5%
