About the role:

We're looking for a motivated self-starter to join our Brokerage Risk Team. Our Brokerage Risk Program is responsible for the identification, evaluation, mitigation, and the response to risks faced by the introducing broker-dealer. As a Brokerage Operations Specialist (Risk), you’ll be leading the execution of Brokerage incident response, as well as executing on critical functions like alert monitoring and building, restriction implementation and operational analysis. Additionally, you will be responsible for risk assessments across the broker-dealer in order to surface risks and initiate mitigative solutions. You’ll strategize risk mitigation through tasks automation, control implementation and monitoring operations across the broker-dealer. Using data to drive operational decisions, you will collaborate with our product and engineering teams to execute on innovative, risk-mitigation projects. This role will be critical to identifying, evaluating, monitoring, and responding to risks faced by the Robinhood’s introducing broker-dealer while partnering with Enterprise risk to strengthen the capabilities across all types of risks at Robinhood.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Design and monitor real-time market and trading dashboards and alerts for emerging trends
  • Design and follow policies and procedures in the event of alerts or risk trends
  • Engage leaders across the broker-dealer to perform risk assessments and track and monitor identified risks
  • Use data to craft recommendations for tools or controls that mitigate risk
  • Work closely with our engineering and product teams to launch, improve, de-risk, and scale Robinhood’s products and systems

About you: 

  • Ability to learn quickly, think critically, and apply problem-solving skills to resolve issues and implement process improvements
  • Risk management expertise, including process design and risk assessments
  • Help assess emerging risks to include the design monitoring of mitigation tactics
  • Long-term thinking; ability to identify and mitigate risks proactively and understand cross-organizational impact
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and passion for brokerage operations and financial markets
  • Resourceful and adaptive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments; strong bias to action
  • Composed under pressure, objective, and diplomatic
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and analytical
  • 4+ years experience in Brokerage Operations and/or Risk profession
  • Bachelor’s in finance, business, or quantitative field
  • Exposure to middle office brokerage operations, margin, and options
  • SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 (or ability to maintain within 6 months)

Bonus points: 

  • Strong Robinhood product knowledge
  • Experience interfacing with technical and non technical teams
  • Series 24 license
