TITLE: Assistant Controller - Reporting & Operations
LOCATION: Louisville, CO

SUMMARY:

The Assistant Controller – Reporting & Operations is responsible for leading all management and financial reporting aspects, including the operations accounting function of the company. They will be expected to manage the entire financial reporting process and communicate results internally and externally. This role is considered a senior finance position in the company, interacting with other finance managers and the company leaders on a regular basis, while being hands-on and familiar with the details. They will supervise and manage a team of 6 people and will possess a good grasp of US GAAP as well as operational accounting. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monthly Accounting and Financial Reporting
    • Responsible for the monthly reporting process
      • Ensure the reporting is prepared timely, accurately and completely
      • Accelerate monthly reporting close, with a target of completion by WD5.
    • Explain Balance Sheet and P/L movements and provide commentary on monthly, quarterly and annual results.
    • Manage and continue to improve the internal controls over the accounting close process
    • Ensure GL account reconciliations are completed timely and are up to date
    • Assist as needed in preparing or reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Annual Audit
    • Be the point person with primary responsibility for timely completion of the annual audit
    • Responsible for drafting and issuance of the audited financial statements
    • Coordinate all technical accounting aspects and ensure audit sign off
  • Treasury
    • Manage the worldwide bank account consolidation to our primary bank Wells Fargo
    • Refine the worldwide cash concentration and cash clearing process
    • With each acquisition, manage the process of changing bank signors, setting up new Wells Fargo accounts and closing prior accounts
    • Ensure debt payments are made timely and accounting is accurate
  •  Accounts Payable (AP)/Purchasing
    • Supervise the AP team, ensuring invoices and purchase requests are properly approved and paid in a timely manner. Experience with Concur Solutions our AP/Purchasing system is a plus.
    • Assist in reviewing and posting AP and Cash in our general ledger system
  • Payroll
    • Manage the worldwide Payroll team ensuring that employees are paid and recorded timely and accurately. With each acquisition, ensure the process of onboarding the US and foreign payrolls goes smoothly
  • Foreign Accounts
    • Work with the Accounting Manager to supervise the foreign accountants, ensuring that their reporting to us and their statutory reporting and filings are complete, accurate and timely
    • Participate in completion of account reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned or requested
    • Integrations of acquisitions into our CRM, general ledger, and above processes
    • Work with legal counsel and consultants on mergers and dissolutions of entities as needed
    • Continuous process improvement to our systems, controls and processes

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Corporate / Public Accounting role.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Accounting Software. Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), Concur or Ultimate Software preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics CRM or other CRM application is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA is preferred.
