Salary: $120,000-$180,000

We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive Systems Engineer, who can execute autonomously and progress Space Vehicle missions. The individual needs to be proactive and enjoy managing and leading small and/or medium sized space vehicle missions. The individual needs to be a self-starter, willing to stretch outside of current knowledge areas, and open to executing against the entire engineering lifecycle. The role requires a can-do person who is willing to step in and support program and technical business needs alongside the team.
This role aids in the assurance that the SE team fulfills needs and assignments across multiple space systems design/integration programs throughout the life cycle of a program, both commercial and government.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Executes across multiple space systems design/integration programs.
• Willingness and ability to lead a program from award to mission acceptance.
• Ensures projects are supported through the entire like-cycle.
• Seeks feedback from interdisciplinary teams to ensure program success.
• Leads meetings with customers.
• Communicates program details and timelines to internal/external partners.
• Resolves program blockers and communicates needs to retain success mission execution.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS in Systems Engineering or related technical field.
• 4-10 years of experience as a System Engineer
• Strong communication and coordination skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
• Planning and organizing skillsets, including schedule contribution, cost estimation, and ability to balance own task loading
• Understanding of the SE ‘V’, the interdependencies associated, and ability to apply the methodology to program execution
• Experience or knowledge of all phases of a program life cycle
• Experience in the design and/or test of an engineering project, preferably Space Vehicle related
• Technical communication/writing experience
• Project leadership experience (product lead or team lead)
• Experience completing requirement derivation and understanding of requirement meaning
• Experience planning and executing verification activities
• Strong interpersonal skills and techniques for eliciting and motivating team performance.
• Ability to engage with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in interpreting customer (internal and external) needs and expectations.
