Sustaining Engineer (I/II) Molding and Production Equipment Specialist

The Role: As a Sustaining Engineer at PopSockets you will be a member of multiple cross functional teams to support the mass production of all products. The Sustaining Engineer will facilitate production improvements including cost reductions, automation development, and introducing new equipment as necessary. In addition, the Sustaining Engineer will support D&D and NPI by managing all production tool and equipment design and qualification. You will report to the Operations Engineering Manager at the Boulder, CO HQ with occasional domestic and international travel (~10%)

Responsibilities:

Support Production by:

  • Monitoring mass production equipment status including capacity and remaining life
  • Initiating and qualifying new equipment including documentation, record keeping, and schedule tracking
  • Driving cost down initiatives such as yield improvement and increased capacity
  • Managing automation projects

Support Quality Engineering by:

  • Responding to quality events and drive equipment improvements to meet corrective actions

Support Design and Development by:

  • Reviewing mold and equipment DFMs
  • Generating capacity models and directing mold/equipment requirements
  • Producing and maintain records for first tool qualification

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Industrial)
  • CAD and Drafting Capability (SolidWorks Preferred)
  • Plastics experience is a plus
  • Detail oriented, able to manage and create data
  • Able to travel ~10% US and International (Mexico and China)
