Our Shared Infrastructure Storage team is building next generation Infrastructure-as-a-Service storage solutions that support the most demanding mission-systems and software development to provide stability, performance, and reliability to our customers growing needs.

DigitalGlobe is seeking a Storage Systems Engineer who can provide storage administration for our current DigitalGlobe on premise infrastructure, but also someone that wants to learn and understand next generation creative storage solutions. This position will be part of the Infrastructure Storage team that implements solutions through new emerging technologies and traditional storage solutions.

• Manage current storage infrastructure which consists of traditional enterprise level NAS and SAN technologies across several vendors.
• Assist with implementation of storage projects for new business needs.
• Assist with process improvement and documentation for routine activies.
• Work with other IT teams to discuss, plan and coordinate activities related to upgrades, migrations and other maintenance on storage infrastructure.
• Assist with the design of next generation storage solutions based on the business needs.
• Document any of the existing and future storage infrastructure and technologies.
• On-Call Storage rotation.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple objectives in a rapidly changing environment.
• Communicate complex issues with both oral and written form in terms clearly understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understand and follow proper DigitalGlobe and government change control processes.
• Provide basic ticketing system support for traditional and cloud based storage infrastructure.

Requirements

• Equivalent of Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or possess equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years of experience with Enterprise Storage, such as NetApp, Isilon, HNAS, Hitachi HUS-VM, Brocade FC switches, NAS and SAN.
• 3+ years of experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux, VMware.
• Understanding or Experience with Cloud technology such as AWS and GoogleCloud.
• Basic understanding of IaaS solutions such as OpenStack.
• Experience with storage protocols such as SMB, NFS, FCP, and object.
• Experience with disk technologies, as well as enterprise storage systemsU.S.
• Citizen with current DoD clearance (Secret) or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Object Storage such as Ceph
• Must possess strong analytical skills, flexibility, and be able to work in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written, with the willingness to vocalize complex and/or innovative ideas effectively to team and management
• Willing to learn all facets of cloud based solutions as it pertains to IaaS
• Curious, and possess the desire to make things better when opportunities present themselves
