Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with RAN vendors and RAN testing tool vendors in building RAN lab
- Review/interpret requirements and translate them into Systems specifications/requirements (end-to end design/Call flows/System architecture/Interface definition)
- Provide inputs and support to the Testing team in creating/executing test plans
- Provide leadership in the Radio/Protocol conformance testing of gNB/eNB, EMS, slicing, SON
- Facilitate live troubleshooting of lab/production network issues, using overall systems, testing tools, UE, and logs
- Assist in debugging and identifying root cases for the issues/defects experiences in lab or production environment and accordingly document them in JIRA systems
- Manage multiple tasks by multi-tasking and accomplish goals by working across the organization with various teams
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Engineering or Technical education or an equivalent combination of highly related experiences and education
- 8+ years of experience in the wireless industry
- Extensive understanding and experience in 4G/5G RAN, 5G ORAN stack split functions (7-2x, RU, DI, CUCP, CUUP)
- Extensive understanding and experiences in ORAN software architecture in the virtualized environment preferred. 3GPP RAN understanding is minimum requirement
- Understanding of end to end call flow scenarios, such as - VoNR, ViNR, inter-carrier roaming (n14, N26), EPS fallback, SMS, MMS, E911
- Extensive understanding of software systems/services running in the virtualized environments (Kubernetes, AWS) and ORAN functions
- Understanding of RAN performance KPI's/metrics - such as, latency considerations and issues from gNB to Data Center locations
- Understanding and experiences with virtualized networks, orchestration, and automation across a comprehensive network architecture
- Experience in scripting and developing test automation
- Thorough understanding of RAN/ORAN architecture, as describes in 3GPP standards (Rel 15 & 16) and ORAN community
- Working knowledge of IP networking and cloud/MANO technologies (Kubernetes); Cloud Native Architecture experience including micro-services and containerization
- Hands on experiences in testing tools, such as UE simulators, UE debuggers, Channel emulators, Load/Traffic generators, packet core simulators
- Excellent skills with Microsoft productivity apps, Project as well as Database tools
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Salary Range
Compensation: $100,100.00/Year - $143,000.00/Year
