Who are you?

As a member of our APIs and Integrations team, it will be your responsibility to help VictorOps to ensure quality products are delivered to our customers. You will help to lead the ambitious charge into continuous deployment universe with helping your team to ensure good practices around quality and code coverage reporting. You will also be working with your development team by helping to refine strategies to help ensure the quality of our APIs and third-party integrations with tools such as JIRA, ServiceNow, Slack and more. Your strategy should be one of “automating all the things” while keeping in mind a solid foundation around good user experience. You should enjoy collaborating with people to come up with better metrics for quality and having a deep sense of ownership of your area of the application. Having solid releases which are not customer-impacting, multiple times a day should be your goal and you should have helped to lead an engineering team into this world. You care about the quality and stability of both the code your team write as well as the code you write.

What you’ll do

  • Utilize test automation frameworks standards and tools, and contribute to standard methodologies both with your team and other, complimentary teams
  • Build credibility with development teams, and teach them how to write good tests and testable code
  • Lead coordination effort of acceptance testing for all new functionality and bug fixes
  • Work with your team and engineers across our organization to implement and enforce continuous testing quality gates in the continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
  • Work with your team to ensure optimal testing is completed before any work is released to production
  • When necessary, work with manual test team to ensure appropriate level of manual testing has been executed
  • Be an active participant in QA Guild and, optionally, SRE Council

What will make you a great fit

  • Proven experience working in a CI/CD environment working to ensure the best quality practices within your team
  • Experience with Python, pytest, Jest, Mocha, and, SonarQube is desired
  • Experience in creating test automation for RESTful APIs
  • Experience with set up and maintenance and set up of ITSM tools such as Jira and ServiceNow
  • Experience with set up and maintenance of tools such as Nagios, Icinga, New Relic, Zenoss or Zabbix
  • Experience fostering solid end-to-end testing strategies across multiple applications

Bonus Points

  • Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin or similar Splunk certification, bonus
  • Experience with Jenkins or release pipeline optimization
  • Load testing using JMeter
  • Working knowledge of Selenium and Sauce Labs
