Job Description
We maintain data extraction jobs running on our customers’ internal networks. They wake up periodically, query the customers’ transactional database via OLEDB, package the data into a JSON or XML payload and then POST it to our API. These jobs run in a SQL Server environment (T-SQL and SSIS), and are installed and maintained using a VPN connection to the customers’ networks.
We are looking for a self driven, experienced SQL developer to come work for us full time, primarily to support and enhance our API SQL scripts.
Responsibilities
First-line support for existing customers for integration questions and issues.
Enhance existing integrations as customer requirements change.
Customize integrations for new customers.
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
Skills
SQL Server relational database experience including T-SQL.
SQL Server Integration Services experience.
Basic familiarity with concepts such as OLEDB, ODBC. XML, JSON, VPN, APIs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Customer-service oriented.
Bonus
Experience with Ruby on Rails
AWS or other hosting solutions
Linux experience
Familiarity with DB2/400, OS/400
