• Build proof of concept solutions that demonstrate functionality or a new feature for the business and our development teams.

Solution Architecture:
Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas. Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability. Produces specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces, for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products. Supports a change program or project through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles that comply with enterprise and solution architecture standards (including security).
Software Design:
Designs software components and modules using appropriate modelling techniques following agreed software design standards, patterns and methodology. Creates and communicates multiple design views to identify and balance the concerns of all stakeholders of the software design and to allow for both functional and non-functional requirements. Identifies and evaluates alternative design options and trade-offs. Recommends designs which take into account target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems. Reviews, verifies and improves own designs against specifications. Leads reviews of others' designs. Models, simulates or prototypes the behavior of proposed software to enable approval by stakeholders, and effective construction of the software. Verifies software design by constructing and applying appropriate methods.
Database Design:
Develops and maintains specialist knowledge of database and data warehouse concepts, design principles, architectures, software and facilities. Assesses proposed changes to object/data structures, in order to evaluate alternative options. Implements physical database designs to support transactional data requirements for performance and availability. Implements data warehouse designs that support demands for business intelligence and data analytics.
Data Modelling and Design:
Applies data analysis, design, modelling, and quality assurance techniques, based upon a detailed understanding of business processes, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions). Advises database designers and other application development team members on the details of data structures and associated components.
Experience:

• This is a senior role and you should have demonstratable experience in a similar position.
• This role involves working on high throughput, high volume transactions, where maintaining minimal latency is a crucial to our operational systems. You will need proven experience with systems of this nature.
• An excellent knowledge of event streaming platforms is essential, ideally with EventHub or Kafka. You should be able to converse about their strengths/weaknesses and how they solve traditional technical problems with stakeholders throughout the business.
• Knowledge of Microservices, CQRS, Event Sourcing, and Event Driven Design is benefitial.
• Experience running workshops with various departments in order to build a comprehensive picture of their business processes. Experience with Event Storming and its strengths/weaknesses would be an advantage.
• Strong hands-on development experience across multiple platforms and languages.
• You should have an excellent knowledge of DevOps practices.
• Cloud experience: preferably Azure, but AWS and Google considered.
• Experience costing and demonstrating the technical benefits of an architectural plan. A healthy understanding of the Wardley Mapping Process would be handy.
• Ideally, experience leading a product focused team, working as a technical lead and/or managing the development practices for a technology department.
• Experience with current data classification best practices and technology would be an advantage.
• Familiarity with the sportsbook and gaming industry, especially at a technical level will also be beneficial.
