Brief Description
Our Carbon Black Response Linux Endpoint team is looking for a software engineer who will design and implement security and functionality focused features into the Response product. This work will be done primarily in C and C++ and at times will include shell and other scripting languages.
Description
We are looking for an endpoint Software Engineer who can work in a highly agile environment on our Response Linux Endpoint team. This position is focused on Linux and requires familiarity with Linux security modules, C/C++, Boost, standard template library, and application debugging. As an endpoint Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of major functional and component areas from inception through delivery. You'll not only get to experience owning, leading, and guiding an engineering effort to support this mission, but you'll also benefit from a highly supportive, cooperative team using the latest in cloud and security technology.
What You'll Do
Contribute to the planning and development of multiple features through the complete SDLC
Participate in root-cause analysis and resolution of customer issues
Review and examine both code and designs to identify potential errors early
Work across teams to improve quality by creating and maintaining shared code repositories
Be a major contributor to your scrum team's development effort and participate in engineering-wide planning to reduce cross-team dependencies
Work with automation developers and QA on improving the system quality (during design and implementation phases)
What You'll Bring
2+ years of development experience working as a software engineer in a Linux environment
Strong C/C++ skills
Experience with Virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Docker, Vagrant
Ability to design and implement new-features as well as debug problems as they arise
Understanding of Linux OS internals
Computer security fundamentals
Nice to have
Experience with kernel debugging
Experience with application security (offensive and defensive)
