What you will be doing:

We are looking for an experienced software engineer with the drive to build quality software to transform consumer banking. In this role you will combine your experience and enthusiasm to rapidly learn new technologies and apply them to solve our customers challenges. You will work closely with architects and other senior engineers on the team to design and develop scalable and maintainable systems.

  • Analyze, design, program, debug and modify software enhancements and new features for FIS Digital Banking suite of solutions.

  • Work with Production Owners to understand and clarify system requirements and also to propose changes.

  • Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.

  • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.

  • Develop code, perform testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies.

  • Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.

  • May be responsible for developing or executing project plans, budgets and schedules and for documenting work and results.

  • May deliver informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business groups to internal and/or external audiences.

What you bring:

  • 3+ years of commercial software development working with Java, Spring and JPA/Hibernate

  • Knowledge of software design patterns and integration patterns

  • Competence in usage of REST APIs and integrating open source frameworks and technologies.

  • Experience with Relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server etc)

  • Familiarity with CICD principles and technologies

  • Understanding of application security, threats and best practices

  • Drive to deliver high quality and highly testable software

  • Ability to contribute in a distributed agile team structure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Added bonus if you have:

  • Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift Understanding of Microservice architecture.

  • Experience in banking/FinTech
