ABOUT THE JOB 

You will be responsible for the implementation and refinement of the applications that form the orchestration layer used to control our networking platform and its integration with higher-level monitoring and control systems. You will use Kotlin to code microservices and build and implement REST APIs. You will also use the orchestration tools, Mesos and Marathon, for deployment and management of the distributed applications. 

ABOUT YOU 

We are looking for passionate individuals who aren’t afraid of challenges. You should have a strong background working with distributed systems and orchestration software. We use Mesos and Marathon, but would love to talk to you if you have experience with Kubernetes or Docker Swarm. 

You will be successful in this role if you have experience designing and implementing REST APIs and working with containerization technology, like Docker, Kata, and/or LXC. The Cloud Native team codes in Kotlin, however, engineers who have worked with JVM language (Java, Scala, or other memory-managed, statically-typed languages such as C#) tend to pick up quickly and excel in this role.

Here are a few more skills and experiences that would be good for the position: 

• Can read and write OpenAPI (fka Swagger) specifications
• Comfortable developing outside "enterprise frameworks" 
• Experience with Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis or other data streaming systems is a plus
• Experience developing hardware is a plus
