Do you have extensive experience with Django? Or a similar framework, such as Ruby on Rails? Are you looking to expand your full-stack skills? Does a strong culture of learning and development excite you?

Then we’d love to talk to you about putting your epic developer skills to work in expanding The Motley Fool’s mission to make the world Smarter, Happier, and Richer.

As a Django developer at The Motley Fool, you will work closely with our business teams to nail down requirements for new site features and execute those features in concert with our designers and front-end developers.

While we recognize that not everyone’s level of expertise is the same, we are looking for those who are eager to up their game across our entire application stack. We will help you learn new skills, but will also look to you to help us improve our team’s Django skills.

During our application process, you will be required to complete a Django project (and you’ll be paid for your efforts!)

The Motley Fool started innovating on workplace culture 25 years ago, and has regularly made Best Place to Work lists, including Glassdoor. We are a people-first company — and we believe our employees are people.

Our Stack:

  •  Django 2.2+
  •  Wagtail (Django-based CMS) 2.6+
  •  VueJS 2+
  •  Docker/Kubernetes/Github-based continuous deployment
  •  Multiple production releases throughout the day

 Requirements:

  • You’re an entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable moving quickly in a small startup environment within a larger (~400 person) company
  • The desire and ability to create web experiences that delight our members.
  • 2+ years of direct Django experience, or 4+ years of Ruby on Rails experience and strong desire to self-learn Django (we will coach you, but we need folks who are driven to teach themselves)
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Ability to be on call one week out of six to support production issues
  • Ability to be in the office at least 4 days a week

Nice-To-Have Requirements:

  • Agile Software Development Experience
  • Design Experience
  • VueJS Experience
  • WCAG AA 2.0
