Role Description
The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer will be helping lead and evolve our cloud and hybrid infrastructure
applying solid DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure knowledge. You will champion a culture focused
on continuous improvement and have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary
stakeholders. Critical attributes for this role also include proactiveness, ability to quickly learn/pick up complex
component integrations, manage competing priorities and be a team player by sharing your knowledge and
experience whilst on the job. We also expect you to have an aptitude for being able to think outside the box.
Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing and rectifying network, server and application issues across On-Prem, Cloud and Hybrid environments and across physical and virtual hosting architectures.
  • Ensuring that our state-of-the-art technology & infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently while maintaining security and compliance standards.
  • Strong team orientation with exceptional communication, interpersonal skills with the capabilities to interact with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to troubleshoot and utilise analytical and problem-solving skills to seek solutions to business driven problems
  • Participating in production and departmental support for multiple systems across Australia and US
  • Monitoring performance and systems health according to requirements, troubleshoot any issues and outages, review logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs
  • Ensuring security and access control through best practices and tools, monitor to identify and block any possible intrusions, work with development teams to improve application and hosting environment security using SecOps best practices
  • Key decision making by Identifying and presenting the technical trade-offs and risks of different technical approaches in a meaningful way
  • Researching and recommending innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration and IT related tasks. Identify approaches and tools that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
  • Leading changes to application and infrastructure architectural designs and patterns
  • Share gained knowledge and mentoring of more junior Cloud Platform Engineering members


Required experience & qualifications
2+ years of experience in planning, creating and supporting Kubernetes clusters in a production
environment as well as containerisation technologies (Docker, containerd, etc).

  • 5+ years of experience in Configuration Management tooling, such as Terraform, Serverless, Chef or Puppet (Terraform preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud, AWS or GCP (Azure preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience with building & managing CI/CD pipelines with Azure Pipelines (Azure


DevOps/VSTS) or equivalent build pipeline products (AWS CodeDeploy, GCP CloudBuild, etc).

  • 5+ years of experience in writing scripts using PowerShell, Python, bash or other common scripting tools.
  • 5+ years of experience with relational and/or schema-less database platforms (SQL


Server, NoSQL, Data Warehouse Solutions) and setting up infrastructure as code

  • Designing/implementing micro-services or Service Oriented Architecture applications
  • Familiar with RESTFUL API implementations using JSON/SOAP
  • Working knowledge with various operating systems and platforms, specifically Windows, Debian, MacOSX and related software
  • Extensive production application support experience as well as application monitoring especially with a modern log store / SIEM solutions.
  • Some backend OO programming or JavaScript experience
  • Experience with API management technologies in modern cloud environments
  • Experience in designing distributed, highly available systems/solutions is highly welcomed
