As Cooler Screens’ Senior Architect, you will drive our technology architecture to enable us to reimagine the digital in-store shopper experience and enable new retail merchandising and brand advertising capabilities. You can be based in Chicago or Denver, or possibly elsewhere.

Who You Are:  

• You are a continuous learner and innovator who thrives on tackling tough technical challenges; you have direct experience bringing an enterprise technology vision to reality. 

• You’re a doer, not a pontificator; you know the best solutions demand input from those who are closest to the technology. 

• You’ve recently been doing development and aren’t afraid to jump into the code whether it’s JavaScript (React / Node), C#, whatever.  

• You’re familiar with good data architecture principles and know how to enable insights  into the business.  

• You have a proven record of enabling agile teams in a fast-paced environment. 

• You’re comfortable communicating with individuals, groups, and executives.  

What You’ll Do:  

• You will own the technology roadmap covering our in-store IoT solutions, cloud platform, and integrated 3rd party solutions.  

• You will interact with the CTO and the team to ensure Cooler Screens’ technology plan is in sync with company objectives and is responsive to change. 

• You will work directly with software engineers, Tech Ops teammates, cloud engineers, and 3rd party solution providers to integrate the rollout of our next-generation technology. 

• You will have a hand in continuously expanding the technical acumen of the team. 

What You Need to Succeed:

• Proven experience in building scalable, cloud-based architectures and integrating with third-party partners through well-defined APIs  

• An understanding of IoT technologies including sensor and edge computer solutions  

Experience with the following:  

• Container technologies and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Puppet, Kubernetes)  

• PaaS (e.g. Azure Services)  

• Serverless computing (e.g. Azure Functions) 

• Configuration as Code   

• IoT – centric solutions (Preferred) 

• Azure IoT (Preferred)
