Overview of the position
Scaled Agile, Inc. is looking for an experienced Salesforce Developer to join our technology team in our Boulder office.
This is an opportunity to join a fun, growing development team doing cutting edge work on the Salesforce platform. In addition to traditional Salesforce duties, you’ll directly contribute to a customer-facing application used by customers around the world. Our team values collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement at a sustainable pace - all while delivering competitive compensation and respecting your work/life balance.
What you’ll be doing
As a part of the Information & Technology team, you will have a key role in designing, developing and maintaining cloud applications built on the Salesforce platform, and used by our community over 500,000 certified professionals as well as core Salesforce for our internal employees. You’ll be joining a truly agile engineering team that includes Salesforce Developers, Admins, UX Designer, a Product Owner and ScrumMaster.
The customer-facing Salesforce community built on the Salesforce Lightning Community platform, is developed using Lightning Web Components, Apex and a fair amount of declarative magic.
Every team must tackle large problems, but we like to approach ours differently: Rather than building the “perfect” solution from day one, we deliver incremental small solutions, measure usage/feedback, and apply that to refine our overall plan. This lean approach to UX allows us to let go of our idea of the “perfect” solution and let our customers tell us the experience that works best for them.
Skills and experience that are important for the role
Technical Skills:
- A minimum 3 years experience developing on the Salesforce platform including:
- Lightning Web Components or equivalent JS framework
- Apex and SOQL
- Declarative Salesforce (i.e. Validation Rules, Flow)
- A solid understanding of Salesforce best practices and governor limits
- Produce code that is easy to read and maintain
- Create good unit tests that provide more than just code coverage
- Working experience with Bitbucket and continuous delivery pipelines
- Effectively troubleshoot production issues
- Engagement in technical design discussions
- Break a large problem into smaller deliverables that we can ship quickly to get important feedback from customers
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communications skills, and a willingness to partner with collaborators to discover the right solutions
- Empathy for our customers and your colleagues
- The ability to work on a small team and help us reach our goals
- The ability to reason through tasks independently, share ideas in a group setting, and ask for help when you’re stuck
- Curiosity to test new ideas and gain knowledge from failures
- Experience in agile team practices
- The willingness to share code and ideas with the team, and demo solutions to a larger audience
Nice to haves:
- Experience in developing solutions on Salesforce Lightning Communities
- Knowledge of integrated Salesforce products such as CPQ and Marketo
- Experience integrating with external systems via Middleware and web service APIs
