Prologis is seeking an ambitious and passionate Project Developer or Sr. Project Developer to drive the sales of our renewable energy and sustainability solutions to the Prologis customer base as we drive towards our goal of becoming the largest corporate energy company globally. Today, our solutions are mainly focused on onsite solar and storage but our roadmap includes offsite solar, community solar, in front of the meter storage, VPPAs, microgrids/resiliency, carbon offsets, REC trading and electric vehicle infrastructure. Anything we can do to help solve customer needs or drive value from our unparalleled holdings is in play. Prologis is currently ranked #3 for onsite solar among US corporations and is actively engaged in solar, storage and EV projects in over 11 countries. We are investing in projects, growing our team and expanding our commitment to renewables globally. With over 4,700 buildings owned around the world, the types of renewable solutions you will offer and help roll out will be innovative, meaningful and exciting. You will report to the Vice President of Global Energy and will play a meaningful role as part of a top-notch team of Global Energy professionals who are driving value for Prologis as we grow from ~300MW to over 600MW on our buildings by 2025.

This role requires experience assessing and evaluating energy projects, customer presentations, selling, negotiating, market evaluation, contract review and, ultimately, ensuring we meet our sales goals while providing solutions that matter to our customers. This position offers an unparalleled ability to build the largest portfolio of commercial energy assets globally.

What’s needed in order to do that:

  • Be the driving force and energy program solutions owner in assigned US geographies. Initial focus will be in the US (our largest market), but ultimate responsibility may extend to other Prologis’ markets globally
  • Core contributor to all aspects of the design and creation of Prologis energy-related real estate products and services
  • Open up new markets conducting market discovery, working with market teams to set the conditions, processes and working relationships needed for success in those markets
  • Manage and maintain the accuracy of pipeline data within
  • Create content including proposals, custom slides, market & utility level information
  • Assist or drive transactions by working with our field team and external contractors to schedule site assessments, structural reviews, customer meetings and presentations
  • Interface and develop strong working relationships with various regional internal and external partners to ensure the Energy team is viewed as a responsive team that brings value to our real estate business
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring proper coordination and communication takes place
  • Coordinate with legal, as needed, to assist with contract negotiations and to resolve programmatic needs/requirements

Tell us if you’re ready.

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in sales or sales management ideally within a business to business environment and > 2 years in commercial renewable solution sales with history of successfully meeting quota
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven consultative Sales Skills, professional sales training a plus
  • Understanding of the interplay between system design, cost, project economics, financed pricing and ability to run and use financial models
  • Comfortable prospecting and presenting to executives, owners, CEOs and board members
  • Ability to develop projects from inception to executed contract
  • A general understanding of Industrial Real Estate and selling 500kw+ systems a plus.
  • Positive, innovative and collaborative attitude, strong ability to communicate across departments and drive to “get the deal done”
  • Knowledge of utility tariffs & programs, power purchase agreements, distributed solar, storage, EV and general renewable energy
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and get creative to develop executable projects
  • A history of collaboration, problem solving and communication that drives overall team success
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills especially in relation to customer interaction
  • Experience with Salesforce and MS Excel modeling strongly desired. Energy Toolbase, Helioscope, experience is also valuable
  • Able to travel up to 40% of the time

Target base compensation range of: $93,000 - $130,000. Salary and whole compensation package (including commission target) to be determined by the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
