Job Description

This Principal Engineer will lead the engineering organization in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of the suite of Conga technologies. They should also have the ability and desire to mentor, guide and train other engineers. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have the ability to communicate and influence the adoption of technical roadmaps with all levels of the organization, including executives. We have high expectations for this role and are looking for the right person to help grow our world-class engineering function.

  • Lead the organization in building and designing simple, secure, universal, high-quality microservices

  • Drive collaboration and consensus across the organization to solve problems (e.g. rearchitecting legacy monolith applications, optimizing applications for scale and load, designing system architectures)

  • Ownership of Conga’s system architecture

  • Foster a culture of mentorship within the organization to design, write, test, and maintain application code

  • Take on responsibility for the overall quality of Conga’s technology including but not limited to infrastructure, code quality, SDLC, release management, test systems and framework, and security

  • Research and vet new technology to determine 1-3 year technology roadmap to align with Conga’s business objectives

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience with the ability to lead an organization and teach development concepts to teams

  • Solid communication skills and ability to drive consensus around technical solutions with demonstrated professionalism interacting with a variety of audiences internally and externally 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a proven track record of quality problem-solving and conceptual thinking 

  • AWS, Azure or GCP experience with certification required

  • Experience designing distributed microservice-based system architectures

  • Experience working with object-oriented languages, database technologies and modern UI technologies

  • Preferred experience in modern technologies such as Spinnaker, CI/CD, GraphQL, Kubernetes, and containers
