TITLE: Principal Engineer I
LOCATION: Englewood, Colorado
JOB SUMMARY: Validate integrated system components, including applications supporting mobile feature and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) devices provisioning to billing system, ensuring required details such as device models, entitlement details, service tier updated to Charter's internal integrated components including SOLO DB, IT Kafka, effie and Spectrum core. Ensure CPE and mobile devices are configured including firmware, Network Address Translation (NAT) tables for specific chain set to validate specific feature. Utilize Kubernetes tools to ensure that Charter based mobile components are healthy. Use log capturing applications such as splunk and Kibana to ensure that integrated applications including MDPO, Packet cable multimedia (PCMM), Service Composition Layer (SCP), AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting) specific to Charter's ecosystem are functional and communicating as designed. Validate architectural integrity for end-to-end feature flow based on business requirements. Troubleshoot end-to-end flow and perform root cause analysis for individual components using swagger (API documentation and design tool) and curl commands. Utilize project tracking tools like Jira to report defects based on root cause analysis for project management and work with specific development groups for code fixes. Gather business requirements from stakeholders, designing and transforming such requirements as technical test modules in test tools like Octane and test rails. Perform technical walkthrough sessions with distinct teams including individual components development group and senior leadership for knowledge.
EDUCATION/ REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology or a related field. 2 years of experience utilizing Kubernetes to execute command using kubeapi, to verify cluster and note health, tail container and pods for troubleshooting. 1 year of experience utilizing AWS to comprehend load balancing, VPC based networking and route 53 based DNS routing; utilizing Kafka to lookup and produce messages under specific Kafka topics; utilizing Redis to gather data stored under specific keys for root cause analysis; and, utilizing Mongo DB to fetch data stored as part of the flow for evaluations.
*Remote work permitted up to 2 days per week.
**Salary depends on geography, education, and experience; negotiations begin at $110,800.00

$110,800.00 to $196,400.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
