Position Details:

We are looking for a Platform Architect to help manage the operations of a 24/7/365 Linux and Windows based environment that is utilized by industry leaders. This team is responsible for managing the AWS infrastructure environment from top to bottom, and all aspects of our AWS cloud infrastructure. 

This position will apply hardware and systems engineering experience to the analysis of current environments to design and implement a uniquely optimized server solution for our business. Analyze and document current infrastructure and devise strategies for automating, monitoring in-house application performance characteristics, inter-process communications, messaging, middleware and collaborative software on various platforms. Assist in development of hardware/software business cost of ownership models and presentations for management. 

Perform standard system administration services including:

* Installation, configuration, maintenance and support for operating systems and applications.

* User administration; security policy implementation; system backup and recovery.

* Participation in completing customer change requests and problem ticket resolution outside of normal business hours.

* On-call duties that include 24x7 pager response.

* Support an AWS Cloud Infrastructure (EC2, S3, Load Balancers)

* Support ElasticSearch ECE clusters

* Support a Windows and Linux Ubuntu infrastructure, including Active Directory, PKI, etc

* Support of our Terraform automation framework

* Interface with all levels of users for support, including developers, administrators, engineers, DBA, etc

* Create scripts, tools, framework, metrics, process/procedure and documentation to support Platform Operation needs

Candidates should possess the following knowledge and experience:

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical subjects with technical and non-technical employees.
• Knowledge in hardware/software architecture as well as being able to implement solutions for the company.
• Experience identifying issues and determining root cause via a consistent, logical approach.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assigned tasks/projects in addition to daily responsibilities.
• Prefer experience with scripting languages to build scripts in support of the infrastructure and integrate multiple infrastructure applications including: Terraform, Powershell, Python, SQL/T-SQL.
• Prefer experience building scripts to assist and automate support of large server deployments.
• Ability and willingness to be on-call 24x7 in an on-call rotation.

 Five years of experience in a primary support role managing a large Windows server network (50+ servers) consisting of the following:

• Windows 2016 Server Operating Systems
• Internet Information Server
• Windows Terminal Server
• SQL Server preferred
• Active Directory (including having worked in the set-up and implementation process)
• Demonstrated proficiency in the design, implementation and maintenance of Microsoft operating systems/technologies and third party applications
• Working with network infrastructure applications across networks such as messaging, database, Intranet, Internet communications and operating systems administration.
• Supporting server technology (such as clustering, domain models, DHCP, DNS, WINS, LDAP).

Additional consideration will be given to candidates with significant real-world, experience/expertise in the following areas:

* SQL Server

* PowerShell and .NET

* AWS and Terraform

* IT Infrastructure Management Frameworks such as ITIL and the Microsoft Operations Framework
